-----------------

In the past several years, some of the country’s richest and most powerful billionaires have made Austin their home. They’re harming Austin and the lives of people across Texas.

From Elon Musk (the first trillionaire on earth) to Joe Lonsdale (co-founder of Palantir/founder of the Cicero Institute) to Joe Gebbia (co-founder of Airbnb) — Austin’s billionaires are raking in record profits from tech expansion, data centers, and tax breaks. While they avoid paying their taxes, programs and services are cut, homelessness surges, and people struggle to survive without healthcare or enough to eat.

On September 16th, we’re hosting an important town hall to learn more about the billionaires that have made Austin their home.

At the town hall we’ll hear from our partners at Little Sis on new research published about Austin’s billionaires and impacts on our community. We’ll also hear directly from residents impacted by billionaire-backed policies, and have a discussion with elected officials about what we can do locally to defend our community.

We hope you can join us!
